3 from Beaufort County to graduate from SC Governor’s School

Three students from Beaufort County are among the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities students of the Class of 2024 who will graduate on Friday, May 24 at Furman University’s McAlister Auditorium. 

This year’s class – including Alexandra Coley, Aiden Devers, and Elena Ford of Beaufort County — graduates with an impressive list of honors to its credit. In addition to a South Carolina high school diploma, graduates of the Governor’s School also receive a Scholars Diploma. 

Located in Greenville, the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities (SCGSAH) cultivates young artists from across the state through pre-professional training in the areas of creative writing, dance, drama, film, music and visual arts. As a public, residential high school, serving sophomores, juniors and seniors, students refine their talents in an arts-centered community while receiving a nationally recognized academic education. 

Summer programs are available to rising 7th- to 12th-grade students. The Governor’s School serves as a resource to all teachers and students in South Carolina, offering comprehensive outreach programs designed to bring together artists, educators, community organizations and schools. Pellegrino named to the Berry College Spring 2024 Dean’s List

Sophia Pellegrino of Beaufort was named to the Spring 2024 Dean’s List at Berry College. The Dean’s List honors students who posted an academic average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale while carrying a class load of at least 12 hours during the semester.

Nationally recognized for academic excellence and as an outstanding educational value, Berry is an independent, coeducational, comprehensive liberal arts college of approximately 2,200 students. For more than a century, the college has offered an exceptional education that balances intellectual exploration, practical learning, and character development. Its 27,000-acre Rome, Ga., campus is the world’s largest. 

Belmont announces Spring 2024 Deans List

Belmont University recently released the Dean’s List for the spring 2024 semester. Approximately 44% of the University’s 7,338 undergraduate students qualified for the spring 2024 Dean’s List, including Nicolas Hackler (29907), Jonah Louque (29907) and Kimberly Rauscher (29906) of Beaufort.

Dean’s List eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.
