Beaufort’s Boyd graduates from Ole Miss 

Joshua Boyd of Beaufort is among the more than 670 students who graduated from the University of Mississippi in December 2023. Boyd, who majored in Political Science, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in the College of Liberal Arts.

December 2023 graduates are invited to walk across the stage at the University of Mississippi 2024 Commencement exercises, which will be held May 8 through 12. Morning Convocation will be held on Saturday, May 11 at 9 a.m. in the Grove. In the case of inclement weather, Morning Convocation will be held at 9 a.m. in the Sandy and John Black Pavilion at Ole Miss.

Beaufort pair makes Fall 2023 President’s List at Coastal Carolina

More than 1,300 students earned a spot on the President’s List for the Fall 2023 semester at Coastal Carolina University. Students who made the President’s List have achieved a 4.0 grade point average during the semester.

Students from Beaufort who made the President’s List include Leila Porter (29906) and Michael Walker (29907).

Coastal Carolina University (CCU) is a dynamic, public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway, located just minutes from the resort area of Myrtle Beach. CCU offers baccalaureate degrees in more than 100 major fields of study. Among the University’s graduate-level programs are 27 master’s degrees, one educational specialist degree, and the doctorates in education and in marine science: coastal and marine systems science. 

10 from northern Beaufort County make Fall 2023 Dean’s List at CCU

More than 3,000 undergraduate students at Coastal Carolina University, including 10 from northern Beaufort County, were named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2023 semester. Students who make the Dean’s List have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher (3.25 for freshmen) for the semester.

Nine students from Beaufort – Jaliyah Bates (29906), Layton Brakefield (29906), Mia Crivaro (29902),  Shirley Cruz Perez (29902), Genesis Hernandez (29907), Damaris Hurt (29906), Briana Mooney (29902), Joseph Mooney (29902), and Thalia Moultrie (29907) – and one from Port Royal – Christian Wilborn (29902) – made the Dean’s List.
