Beaufort man graduates from Tallahassee CC

Donovan Darius-Popea Dwight, of Beaufort, graduated with a degree from Tallahassee (Fla.) Community College during the April 30, commencement exercises.

Dwight was among more than 3,000 students who received degrees.

TCC would like to congratulate all graduates. A special virtual commencement ceremony video can be seen at www.tcc.fl.edu/2021celebration. This online celebration launches at 6 p.m. Friday, April 30.

Area students make GSU’s Dean’s List

Georgia Southern University recently recognized approximately 3,850 students for excellence in academics on the Fall 2020 Dean’s List. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

Included were area students Mary Baker of Beaufort (29907), Lindsey Breaux of Beaufort (29907),

Sara-Jo Christensen of Beaufort (29907), Olufolawe Banigbe of Okatie (29909) and Carter Hubbard of Okatie (29909).

Beaufort’s Gardner inducted into Phi Kappa Phi

Beaufort’s Anna Gardner was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Gardner was initiated at College of Charleston.

Gardner is among approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter.
