High school lacrosse season got underway Monday night with Beaufort High dropping its season openers.
Perennial power James Island routed the Beaufort boys, 16-3, but the Eagles had a strong defensive showing in an 8-5 loss to Bluffton’s girls.

Beaufort’s girls play White Knoll at home Saturday, while the boys have home games against Bluffton on Thursday and Greenville on Saturday.
