Downtown Beaufort to Get New Restaurant

By Gene Brancho

Downtown Beaufort will be getting a new restaurant near the end of this month.  Expect Griffin Market to open up sometime around the 1st week of December in this location at 403 Carteret Street.  Owners Riccardo and Laura Bonito “plan a seriously ‘different’ restaurant, capturing the culture and taste of the Occitane region of Northern Italy, Catalonia Spain, & the South of France”…the region where Riccardo is from.

The Bonitos operated Griffin Market in the Georgetown District of Washington D.C. before relocating to Beaufort recently, and they’ve brought their business with them.  Expect light fare at lunch, and some exquisite tastes, paired with a wine list of authentic Italian wines, for dinner.
