Brunch on the Bluff to mark 50 years of Open Land Trust

From staff reports

It’s time to pull out spring soiree attire and enjoy “Brunch on the Bluff” to kick off a celebration of 50 years of the Beaufort County Open Land Trust.

On April 27, 1971, the Beaufort County Open Land Trust was formed, and in 1973 the Bay Street Bluff was officially purchased. The purchase of this property was the first for the Open Land Trust and led to other purchases under the herald “protecting the Bay Street Bluff,” which to date is one of the most iconic views in Beaufort.

The Beaufort County Open Land Trust is excited to begin a year of celebrating the 50th anniversary by hosting a kick-off event in this very spot named, “Brunch on the Bluff.”

The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, May 1 at the Bay Street Bluff, 1806 Bay St.

Catering is by Susan Mason, including her famous crab cakes, and there will be live music and an open bar.

Tickets are $100 and can be purchased at https://bit.ly/3apeh4o.
