Bomb threat prompts evacuation of BCHS

Students and staff at Battery Creek High School were evacuated after a bomb threat was called into the school Wednesday, April 27.

The search for an explosive device concluded with no such device found.

All students and staff members evacuated safely.

According to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, the threat was received by a staff member at the school around noon. Sheriff’s Office deputies and a K9 were on scene to search the school for any sign of an explosive device.

The identity of the individual responsible for the threat is under investigation.
