Investigators with the Beaufort Police Department are looking into the shooting death of a man who was sitting in a car in a residential area east of Ribaut Road at the time of the incident,
officials say.

Ethan Bosworth, 20, of Beaufort, was shot around 10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22 while in a car on Waddell Road, said Beaufort County Deputy Coroner David Ott.

After he was shot, Bosworth drove a short distance before crashing into a tree. He was taken to Beaufort Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, Ott said. The shooting has been ruled a homicide.

Bosworth was the only person in the car at the time of incident, said Sgt. Patrick Schmucker with the Beaufort Police Department. No arrests have been made and no other details on the shooting were available as of Monday, Dec. 2.

The investigation is on-going, Schmucker said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Sgt. Josh Dowling at 843-322-7950 or the tip line at 843-322-7938.
