Beaufort Memorial to offer free joint pain seminar

From staff reports

Achy knees or hips slowing you down?

You’re not alone. It’s estimated that more than 30 million Americans suffer from osteoarthritis, the most common type of joint problem in older adults. Symptoms include pain, stiffness, and a loss of ability.

“Many people start noticing joint pain in their 40s, but it’s not necessarily enough to slow them down,” Beaufort Memorial Physical Therapist and Orthopaedic Care Coordinator Andrea Sadler said. “But by the time they reach their 50s and 60s, the pain is often bad enough to seek medical attention.”

If joint pain is keeping you from doing the things you enjoy, join Sadler for a free joint-pain class where she discusses common causes of joint pain, how early diagnosis can solve pain issues, effective non-surgical treatments for joint pain and the latest minimally invasive surgical procedures.

The hour-long class will be held at 1 p,m., Tuesday, April 26 in the conference room of the Beaufort Memorial Port Royal Medical Pavilion at 1680 Ribaut Road. The seminar is free, but registration is required as space is limited. For more information or to register, visit BeaufortMemorial.org/SolvingJointPain.
