Beaufort Memorial Express Care & Occupational Health will be moving from its current location across from the hospital to new offices in the Port Royal Medical Pavilion at 1680 Ribaut Road next week. The walk-in medical clinic will begin operating from the building, formerly occupied by the Keyserling Cancer Center, starting Monday, Dec. 7.

The original site at 974 Ribaut Road was the first of three Express Care clinics BMH has opened since 2018 to speed up care for patients suffering from acute, non-life-threatening medical issues. Staffed by physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners board certified in urgent and primary care, the clinic offers well and sick visits for adults and children.

“Our Express Care clinics are designed to provide patients with faster access to care if they can’t get in right away to see their doctor,” said Angie Barber, practice operations administrator for Beaufort Memorial Physician Partners. “They support our primary care practices, easing the demand for same-day appointments and decreasing unnecessary visits to the ER.”

Same-day appointments and drop-ins are welcome for a wide range of minor ailments and injuries, including the flu, strep throat, sprains and strains, urinary tract infections, vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration and lacerations. On-site x-ray and lab services are available.

Beaufort Memorial Express Care and Occupational Health also serves employees of businesses participating in the hospital’s Well at Work, a comprehensive wellness program designed to cover everything from pre-employment physicals to workplace injuries.

The Beaufort office is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays; and 1 to 5 p.m., Sundays.

In addition, companies enrolled in the Well at Work program can send employees suffering workplace injuries to the clinic for expedited medical services, reducing lost time and rising workers’ compensation costs. The clinic also performs employee physical exams, drug and alcohol testing and biometric screenings, including cholesterol and blood pressure tests.
