Beaufort Academy blanks Chargers in region blowout

Beaufort Academy’s ground game kept rolling and the defense dominated as the Eagles rolled to a 35-0 win at Northwood Academy in their region opener Friday for their third straight victory.

Ja’Sean Lawson rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown, and Carlos Jones added 84 yards and a TD to lead BA’s powerful rushing attack. 

Jaxen Porter added 46 yards on the ground and caught a 21-yard TD pass from Braydon Dineen, who was 5-for-5 for 78 yards and a score. Elijah Fess caught three passes for 41 yards and added 28 yards on the ground. 

The Eagles’ defense continued its impressive play, as John Asher Howell led the way with seven tackles, while Kevin Rogers added six and Ben Lubkin had five.

BA (3-1, 1-0) hosts Thomas Heyward Academy for a non-region game at 7:30 p.m. Friday
