BCSD announces new principal at Beaufort Middle School

A former Beaufort County School District (BCSD) administrator has been selected as the new Beaufort Middle School (BMS) principal. Jennifer Morillo replaces Elandee Thompson, Ph.D, who has accepted the role of Principal at Battery Creek High School.

Morillo has previously served in principal roles at Beaufort Elementary School and Robert Smalls International Academy (now Robert Smalls Leadership Academy), as well as assistant principal at Lady’s Island Middle School. In addition to serving as a Franklin Covey Leader in Me Coach/Consultant for nearly 5 years, she brings district office experience to her reprised role of principal, having served as the Director of Teaching and Learning from 2013 to 2017 and more recently as a Transformation Specialist. Morillo holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Charleston Southern University.

“Every exceptional district has strong school leaders, and I’m excited to see this superb educator be successful in their new role,” BCSD Superintendent Frank Rodriguez said. “She’s experienced and understands the importance of creating a district and school culture of moving academic achievement and ensuring our students succeed.”
