BA falters in 2nd half

Beaufort Academy was a two-point conversion away from tying the game in the third quarter, but Holly Hill Academy reeled off 24 unanswered points to hand the Eagles a 40-14 loss Friday.

Elijah Fess rushed for 76 yards on 16 carries and scored a 4-yard touchdown, and Ja’sean Lawson rushed for 77 yards on 14 carries. Kai Jenkins went 5-for-10 for 69 yards and threw a 7-yard TD pass to William Tumlin, who finished with four catches for 65 yards.

Malakai Steiniger led the Eagles’ defense with 12 tackles.

BA (0-3, 0-1) hosts Northside Christian next Friday.
