Beaufort Academy’s first season in 11-man football came to an end in the first round of the SCISA 2A playoffs Friday, as the Eagles couldn’t slow down a powerful Pee Dee Academy offense in a 49-28 road loss.

Elijah Fess ran for one TD and caught a TD pass from Braydon Dineen, and Dineen and Ja’Sean Lawson added touchdown runs for the Eagles, but they had no answer for Hudson Spivey and the Pee Dee passing attack.

Spivey went 21-of-33 for 291 yards and four TDs, Caleb Oakley caught 12 passes for 154 yards and three TDs, and Colby Sinclair rushed for 215 yards and two scores on 16 carries for Pee Dee.

The Eagles took a 16-15 lead when Dineen scored on a 4-yard run with 4:03 left in the first half and Lawson added the two-point conversion run. But Pee Dee answered to take a 22-16 halftime lead and reeled off three more TDs in the third quarter to put it away.

It was Sinclair who took over in the third quarter, making it 28-16 with a 55-yard touchdown run and capping the scoring spree with a 91-yard burst.

BA (5-6) dropped its final four games, including a pair of one-point losses and defeats to two of the final four teams standing in SCISA Class 2A. Pee Dee (8-1) will travel to Hilton Head Christian Academy (10-0) for a semifinal matchup Friday.
