Another yard debris fire spreads, damages and threatens structures

Just after 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, Burton Fire District and MCAS Fire and Emergency Services firefighters responded to a reported out of control brush fire on Capehart Drive in Burton. Fire crews arrived on scene and found a spreading brush fire that involved a shed and was spreading into two other properties.

Firefighters quicky cut the fire off and kept it from spreading while also extinguishing the fire in the shed. No injuries were reported. The shed sustained moderate damages but no other structures were damaged.

The fire is believed to have been caused by burning yard debris.

This was the second such fire this week. On Wednesday, Jan. 8, just after 2 p.m., Burton and MCAS firefighters responded to a reported out of control brush fire on Tarra Court in Burton.
