Columnist Lolita Huckaby photographed these flowering Camellias, a symbol of winter-weather beauty in the South, on Ribaut Road which still maintains elements of the multiple camellia bushes that were once grown there competitively. Former homeowners prided themselves in the varieties and February Camellia shows are still common in some Southern communities.
