Hilton Head 29, Beaufort 11

The Eagles’ defense kept them in it early, but Troy Timko rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns, and Thaddeus Czarnecki added a pair of touchdown runs to help the Seahawks pull away and send Beaufort to its third straight loss. The Eagles (2-8) may still earn an at-large berth in the Class 4A playoffs and would open on the road Nov. 15.

Hanahan 48, Battery Creek 13

The Hawks hurt the Dolphins through the air and on the ground, as Tripp Gallus passed for 206 yards and three touchdowns and Travis Neal rushed for 106 yards and a score to help Hanahan lock down the No. 3 seed from Region 6-3A. Battery Creek (3-6) will travel to Dillon for a first-round playoff matchup in Class 3A.

Barnwell 21, Whale Branch 14

The Warriors went toe-to-toe with the No. 3 team in Class 2A but came up just short of forging a three-way tie for first place along with Hampton County. Whale Branch (4-5) will host Kingstree in a first-round game Nov. 15.

Pinewood Prep 69, John Paul II 21

The Golden Warriors were the latest victims of Pinewood’s Jeremiah Singleton, who rushed for 283 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries, and Asa Windham and Terrance Stallworth hooked up for three touchdown passes in the Panthers’ rout. Alan Wolf was 6-for-18 for 101 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions and had a team-high 60 rushing yards on 18 carries for JPII (1-9) travels to Wilson Hall to open the SCISA 3A playoffs Friday.
