It was a particularly memorable Mother’s Day for two Beaufort moms who welcomed their new babies on Sunday, May 12. First to arrive at the Beaufort Memorial Collins Birthing Center on Mother’s Day morning was Thaine Smith, son of Jordan Mathison and Logan Smith, who made his appearance at 10:12 a.m. Later that evening, Monserrath Ramos, daughter of Maria Velasquez and Oscar Ramos joined him at 9:54 p.m. While a Mother’s Day birthday makes for an extra special celebration, the next time Thaine and Monserrat will have birthdays that coincide with Mother’s Day will be May 12, 2030, when they turn six.
