Habersham’s Ron Callari took a photo inside the tunnel on the Technical College of the Lowcountry Mather Campus, an area attraction unknown to many tourists and even residents. Local artists and volunteers have contributed to the interior walls that traverse Ribaut Road underground. Saint Helena Island artist John Bradley Jr. kicked off the project in 2017 with a portrait of Robert Smalls — just one of the many historical figures featured.
