JJ Check has attained the rank of Eagle Scout. Check, of Boy Scouts of America Troop 200 at Sea Island Presbyterian, is presented by his mother, Karen Check, and his father, Scout Master Frank Check. A 15-year-old sophomore at Beaufort High School, JJ Check has been involved in Scouting for eight years. His Eagle Scout project consisted of removing and rebuilding the Memorial Garden at the Port Royal Masonic Lodge, which took more than 100 labor hours with the help of approximately a dozen people.
