Karen Morris

Local Paramedic recognized for 30 years of service

From staff reports

Karen Morris, Training Officer for Beaufort County Emergency Medical Services (EMS,) was recently recognized by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians for achieving 30 consecutive years of National EMS Certification.

This distinction is an honor held by few EMS professionals.

To maintain her status as a Nationally Registered Paramedic, Morris completed, on a biennial basis, the most comprehensive re-certification program for EMS professionals in America.

By maintaining her National EMS Certification and completing regular continuing education courses, Morris has demonstrated her commitment to providing exceptional pre-hospital emergency medical care.

Morris received her Paramedic certification in 1990, later becoming a Nationally Registered Paramedic in 1993, and has been serving the Beaufort County community since 1988, starting as an Emergency Medical Technician with Beaufort County EMS and rising through the ranks to her current position.

The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians serves as the National EMS Certification organization by providing a valid, uniform process to assess the knowledge and skills required for competent practice by EMS professionals throughout their careers and by maintaining a registry of certification status.
