A 32-year-old Hardeeville man is recovering from a gunshot wound after a shooting Tuesday, Aug. 8, on Lady’s Island.
At approximately 11:50 a.m., Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) deputies were dispatched to the area of Sandy Lane for a report of a shooting. According to the BCSO, the complainant reported that a person had been shot.
Deputies arrived in the community but did not locate any gunshot victims. A short time later, however, deputies were called to Beaufort Memorial Hospital for a person who had been shot.
The man’s injuries were not serious, and he was treated and released on Tuesday afternoon.
Deputies and investigators remained in the area of Sandy Lane on Tuesday afternoon interviewing possible witnesses and collecting evidence.
