Private Personal Visits With Santa

Through Dec. 22, Every Second Counts Escape Rooms, Lady’s Island. There will be 15-minute private reservation times on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays. Cost is $20 for first child, $7 for additional children/siblings. Activities include writing a personal letter to Santa, mailing those letters, hot cocoa, meeting Santa in the Christmas Holiday Room, a small gift from Santa and one free high definition photo with Santa. (Additional photos are $3 each.) Mask required upon arrival unless medical condition prohibits it. Masks not required for children younger than 4. Babies welcome and Santa will hold your baby. Santa will wear a special Christmas mask. During the free photo with Santa, parents can elect to have children wear masks or remove them. Visits with Santa himself are private. Habersham Southern Living Showcase Home tours

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Wednesday to Sunday, through Dec. 27 (excluding Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays), 10 North Loudon Street, Habersham. Parent’s Night Out Little Elves Workshop

5:30 to 10 p.m., Friday, Dec. 18, Wardle Family YMCA, 1801 Richmond Avenue, Port Royal. For kids age 3 months to 12 years. Pack a swimsuit and towel for swimming in the Y’s heated indoor pool. There will be holiday arts and crafts, cookie decorating, games, food and fun! Dinner will be provided. Cost is $20 per child ($15 siblings) and registration is at the Y in Port Royal or call 843-522-9622. Note that the Y follows all CDC guidelines for social distancing and the current Port Royal mask ordinance (children age 9 and older must wear a mask except when eating and actively swimming). 1st annual Christmas Classic Beer Mile

3 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 19, Sands Parking Lot, Port Royal. Cost is $35. Price increases after Dec. 11. Presented by Salt Marsh Brewery. 100% of the proceeds to benefit the Beaufort-Jasper YMCA of the Lowcountry. What is a Beer Mile? Drink a beer, run a quarter mile. Drink a beer, run a quarter mile. Drink a beer, run a quarter mile. Drink a beer, run a quarter mile. Four beers, one mile. Each competitor drinks four 12 ounces of Salt Marsh Brew. Beer must be consumed before the lap is begun, within the transition area. The race begins with the drinking of the first beer in the transition zone. Competitors must drink the entire 12 ounces before they begin running. The beer must be a minimum of 5 percent alcohol by volume. Competitors who vomit before they finish the race must complete one penalty lap at the end of the race (immediately after the completion of their fourth lap). Vomitting more than once during the race still requires only one penalty lap at the end. It is strongly recommended, when attempting official records, to tip the empty beer can or bottle over your head at the end of a chug to verify an empty vessel. The Nutcracker

10 a.m. and 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 19, USCB Center for the Arts via live stream. The Bolshoi Ballet is on the big screen in HD. Tickets are $10.

Holiday Day Camp

Dec. 23-24 or Dec. 28-31, The Wardle Family YMCA, 1801 Richmond Avenue, Port Royal. Kids age 3 and older. Camp dates are Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. except Dec. 24 and 31, which are half day (7 a.m.-noon). Drop-in rates are $25 for members, $30 for nonmembers and the four-day rate (Dec. 28-31) is $80 for members and $100 for nonmembers. Age-appropriate activities including crafts, field/gym games, swimming, nature walk (weather permitting) and more. Please pack a lunch and bring a swimsuit. Register at the Y in Port Royal.

Parkinson’s Support Group Meeting
