2020 City Halloween Celebration reimagined and happening now

/

This year, the City of Beaufort and its sponsor partners will host a re-imagined, community-wide Halloween Celebration with virtual contest events including pumpkin decorating, costume, (all ages and pets), and a drive-thru trick-o-treat. In addition, the event has partnered with Born to Read to bring awareness to the importance and fun of building literacy and reading skills early in a child’s life. There is a series of videos posted on the city’s Facebook to encourage young readers.

Everyone is invited to show off their Halloween spirit and creativity by dressing in costume and or decorating a pumpkin, snapping a picture, and entering for a chance to win prizes. Photo entries for both contests — costume and pumpkin decorating — are being accepted now through Nov. 1 at 8 p.m. Participants can send their photos to: events@cityofbeaufort.org. They will be loaded into a gallery and posted on the City’s Facebook page for viewing and people’s choice voting which will run Nov. 2–6. Contest winners will be announced and posted on Facebook at 5 p.m. on Friday Nov. 6.

On Halloween day from 2–4 p.m., or until supplies last, there will be drive-thru trick-o-treat locations to choose from where kids can receive a pre-packed Halloween bag filled with candy and fun trinkets. One bag per child please. The (4) locations for the drive-thru are: Washington St. Park, Pigeon Point Park Southside Park, and Waterfront Park.

All event details including more information about the contests and drive-thru trick-o-treat can be found at https://www.cityofbeaufort.org/311/City-Sponsored-Events. All activities are free and open to the public.
