While biking the Spanish Moss Trail, Beaufort’s Jody Henson took this photo of daughter Ashley Robinson and grandchildren Elle and Kent at the trail marker for the Feb. 3, 1779 Battle of Port Royal Island. Their great grandfather, Lt. Benjamin Wilkins of the CharlesTown Artillery, was mortally wounded during the battle and was buried the following day at the Parish Church of Saint Helena.
