Beaufort County buildings open to public
Beaufort County Government has reopened its buildings to the public but continues to strongly encourage residents to conduct County business online, through email, or over the phone whenever possible.
Likewise, anyone requiring in-person assistance from any County department is asked to make an appointment before coming to help minimize the number of visitors at any given time.
Anyone visiting a County building is required to wear a face-covering while in the building.
In the interest of preventing further spread of COVID-19, the County is operating according to public health guidelines put forth by DHEC and the CDC.
All County employees have been provided with hand sanitizer and are required to wear face-coverings in the workplace.
All buildings will close to the public at 4:30 p.m. each day for disinfecting.
Beaufort County Council and committee meetings will continue to be held virtually for the time-being.
Help of Beaufort hosting Boston Butt fundraiser
Help of Beaufort is selling Boston Butts – smoked by Sea Eagle Market – for a July 4 fundraiser.
Those interested can order and pay online at www.helpofbeaufort.org, stop in at Help of Beaufort or call 843-524-1223.
Pick up is from 9 a.m. to noon, Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4 at Help of Beaufort at 1810 Ribaut Road in Port Royal.
Hopeful Horizons offering volunteer training
Hopeful Horizons will offer a virtual training in July for those interested in becoming volunteers with the organization. The training will be held 5:30 to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 6-10 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 11.
Those interested can visit https://www.hopefulhorizons.org/volunteer-opportunities for more information and to apply. A completed volunteer application is required to attend the training.
Each volunteer receives 25 hours of training to ensure that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to work directly with survivors of child abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault.
