Santa flying into town Sunday

The Beaufort Aviation Association will intercept Santa as he reconnoiters the Lowcountry for his Christmas Eve fly-over.

Santa agreed to take a break from making his “naughty” and “nice” lists and fly in to Beaufort Airport on Lady’s Island on Sunday, Dec. 16. Expect him around his “tea time” — from 3 to 5 p.m. — when neighborhood children can meet and greet Santa. If they are on the “nice” list, they can inspect Santa’s bag of toys.

If close to the top of the list, Santa is pre-disposed to give each child a “preview” present, and in return, each child can present a cookie (from the refreshment table) to the surprise drop-in.

Students from neighboring schools are invited to join BAA members and their families. Santa is creating a second list, a survey of youngsters for potential future co-pilots.
