Stromer Named First Runner-Up in Farm Bureau Talent Contest
Elyse Stromer won first runner-up in the SC Farm Bureau Talent Contest Junior II Division, held recently in Myrtle Beach during the organization’s 75th Annual Meeting. Stromer is the daughter of Jared and Nichole Stromer of Beaufort County.
Beaufort County Farm Bureau Receives Women’s Award
Laura Hansen and Ann Ackerman, Beaufort County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee Co-chairs, received a special achievement award on behalf of Beaufort County from SCFB State Women’s Leadership Committee Chair Frances Price during the organization’s 75th Annual Meeting held recently in Myrtle Beach.
Beaufort County was recognized for having one of the top Farm Bureau women’s programs in the state during 2018.
Sommerville Named SC Farm Bureau All-Star
Volunteer leader Paul Sommerville of Beaufort County was recently named a South Carolina Farm Bureau Federation 2018 Government Relations All-Star. The award was presented recently at Myrtle Beach during the organization’s 75th annual meeting.
Sommerville currently serves as the chair of Beaufort County Council. He has shown great support for agriculture, as he brought about change for business licenses in the county and has voiced agriculture’s message with storm water issues and in many other areas when needed.
The SCFB Government Relations All-Star awards are given annually as a means of recognizing member volunteers who go above and beyond to advance SCFB’s priority issues in the General Assembly.
