A big weekend in downtown Beaufort just got bigger. The Shrimp Festival which so many of us love, and that had its’ second day rained out last summer, is coming back and coinciding with the popular Light Up the Night Boat Parade, part of Main Street USA Holiday Weekend.
What a great way to start your holiday festivities than with your friends, a beautiful day or evening downtown enjoying wonderful local wild shrimp dishes from super restaurants and then to cap it all off with the Light Up the Night Boat Parade! The festival is scheduled for Saturday, December 5th, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park.
The new Holiday Shrimp Festival will feature eight or more local restaurants that will compete for a variety of awards including Best Shrimp Dish, Best Booth Decoration, The People’s Choice and the all-important, coveted Silver Cup that’s awarded to the overall restaurant winner.
Enjoy a day of live music and great food from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. followed by the Light Up the Night Boat Parade right in front of Waterfront Park at 5:30 p.m.
The Holiday Shrimp Festival is produced by Main Street Beaufort, USA, the SC Shrimpers Association and many fine sponsors within our wonderful community.
Other great events to put on your calendar for Beaufort’s Holiday Weekend include A Night on the Town, Friday, December 4th from 6 to 9 p.m., The Light Up the Night Boat Parade, Saturday, December 5th at 5:30 p.m., and the traditional Beaufort Christmas Parade on Sunday, December 6th at 3 p.m. And don’t forget to stop in the Festival of Trees which kicks off with a gala on Thursday, December 3rd and will then be open to the public throughout the weekend and beyond.
