Press conference for Beaufort High active shooter ‘hoax’ at 2 p.m.

Sheriff P.J. Tanner with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office will be holding a press conference at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5, to discuss the events at Beaufort High School on Wednesday morning.  

BCSO responded to reports of shots fired at Beaufort High School at approximately 9:30 a.m., but by 11:11 a.m. they concluded that there was no shooter and no gunshot victims.

Student reunification is currently underway.

Sheriff Tanner will be joined by Beaufort Police Chief Dale McDorman and Frank Rodriguez with the Beaufort County School District.
