Tiffany Martin of Henderson, Nev., takes photos of the flood tide as water laps over the sea wall during Tropical Storm Nicole on Friday at the Downtown Marina. Martin along with her sister, Krista, also from Nevada, said she was visiting her other sister Gwen, of Beaufort, and she had never seen anything like this. “I live in the desert near Las Vegas,” she said. “I even got this new yellow raincoat because we knew there might be a storm.” Tides were extremely high as Nicole made her way north, but there were no reports of any serious effects.
