Beaufort High’s Colton Freeman topped the podium again and teammate Olesya Mullins hit a career milestone and had a breakthrough performance to highlight the Eagles’ performance at the Dutch Fork Silver Fox Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Freeman won a 7-2 decision over T.L. Hanna’s Kavon Cole to cap off a 3-0 run through the 215-pound bracket, continuing his dominant start to the season after a runner-up finish in Class 4A last year. Mullins earned her 100th career win with a technical fall in the quarterfinals, then toughed out an 8-6 decision in the semifinals to reach the championship match.
Mullins was also the hero in Beaufort’s 42-40 win over rival Battery Creek earlier in the week, winning the clinching bout to lift the Eagles over the top.
The Dolphins were in action at the Cardinal Newman Holiday Classic over the weekend, where Theo Johnson captured an individual title at 126, and John Paul II’s Chase LaFountain won a title at 113 pounds at the Northwood Invitational.
