Philip Simmons 43, Whale Branch 7

The Warriors couldn’t contain Iron Horses quarterback Tavien Orellana in a blowout loss at home. Orellana was 14-for-19 for 260 yards and three TDs and added two rushing touchdowns to help the Wolverines remain undefeated. Whale Branch has dropped its last two games by a combined 85-20 score.

Dorchester Academy 16, Beaufort Academy 6

Nych Underwood and Dietrich Shuford put up solid numbers once again, but the Raiders’ defense was stingy in scoring position as Dorchester was able to grind out another tough win over a SCISA Region 2-1A opponent after knocking off Patrick Henry a week earlier. Underwood rushed for 136 yards and a TD, and Shuford added 71 yards on the ground and 132 through the air.

Hilton Head 35, Hampton Co. 14

Troy Timko and Thaddeus Czarnecki dominated on the ground and Czarnecki anchored an impressive defensive effort as the Seahawks stunned Class 2A No. 1 Hampton County in The Nest. Timko racked up 169 yards and two TDs on 25 carries, Czarnecki added 120 yards and a score on 13 attempts and had a team-high 11 tackles, and Derrick Raniszewski threw a TD pass to Carson Haines and added a rushing score. Jayvin Risher rushed for 68 yards and a TD on eight carries and Chris Terry was 9-of-15 for 111 yards with a TD pass to Jaylen Singletary for the Hurricanes.

Bluffton 31, Lucy Beckham 17

The Bobcats bounced back from back-to-back losses in a big way, building a big early lead and coasting to a convincing win over a former region rival. Aedan McCarthy regained his early-season form, going 10-of-16 for 146 yards and two TDs and rushing for 119 yards and two more scores on just seven carries. Kordell Holley added 97 yards and a TD on 24 carries, and Nate Ulmer caught four passes for 107 yards and a TD for Bluffton.

Lee Central 42, Hardeeville 7

The Hurricanes fell in a hole early and couldn’t climb out as the Stallions improved to 3-2. Emiliano Santiago and Camari Brown connected for a touchdown pass for Hardeeville’s lone score.

Hammond 55, HHCA 21

The perennial SCISA 4A power Skyhawks made quick work of the Eagles, as Andrew Turner went 13-of-17 for 301 yards and four TDs and added a rushing score en route to a 55-0 halftime lead. The Skyhawks frustrated Reid McCollum, who was 9-of-22 for 173 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions and was held to negative rushing yardage. Harrison Arnholt and Harry Cunningham caught TD passes, and Kres Langhals added a rushing score for the Eagles.

Bethesda Academy 30, Patrick Henry 7

The Patriots couldn’t get anything going on offense, as the Blazers limited star Mikell Tucker Mathis and found success with a balanced offense to win on the road. Jordan Turner was 9-of-16 for 173 yards and two TDs, and Assir Best rushed 11 times for 101 yards and two TDs and collected eight tackles to lead Bethesda. Luke Sobey’s rushing TD was the lone score for PHA.

Colleton Prep 26, Clarendon Hall 0

Quarterback Cale Owens went 12-for-16 for 92 yards and three touchdowns along with 12 rushes for 76 yards, and Tanner Wolf helped carry the load with 16 carries for 85 yards along with six tackles on defense. Senior linebacker Cayson Warner was a standout on defense contributing 7 tackles in the War Hawks shutout win.

Cross Schools 62, Conway Christian 28

The Stingrays made long-awaited history on Friday night, securing their program’s first ever varsity win in a dominant 62-28 triumph over Conway Christian. Jose Gabriel Garcia delivered a memorable performance to lead the way, finding the end zone four times while adding three tackles for loss and recovering an onside kick. Luke Fulda caught a pair of touchdown receptions with another score on the ground, and Will Bender excelled on defense and special teams with a blocked punt and a fumble recovery.
