BHS wrestling starts season strong

The Beaufort High School wrestling team opened its season at the Sandlapper Preseason Tournament in West Ashley on Saturday. 

Mike Cenci (170 pounds) and Dorrian Glover (182) claimed individual titles for the Eagles, while Ty’Reik Reid (126) and Matthew Durrance (138) took runner-up finishes. Kaywan Johnson (132), Rober Cruikshank (152), and Dominick Alston (160) placed third.

The Eagles amassed 11 pins on the day, including two each from Reid, Durrance, Cruikshank, and Cenci, and one apiece from Johnson, Glover, and J.J. Patton.

Beaufort will be back in action at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, with a home dual against Summerville.
