Beaufort Council of Garden Clubs holds annual meeting

The Beaufort Council of Garden Clubs, after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 virus, was able to return earlier on Feb. 7 for their annual meeting.

Hosted by Sea Island Garden Club, the meeting was held at the Parish Hall of St. Helena’s Anglican Church in downtown Beaufort.

Outfitted in beautiful displays of millinery, members of the seven garden clubs were treated to refreshments including cheese straws, tea sandwiches, sweets, and tea punch. As the members socialized, cellist David Kimbrell provided musical entertainment.

The business meeting featured greetings from Linda Howle, the President of the Garden Clubs of South Carolina, Inc., as well as Christy Sloan, who was representing the West Low Country District.

The member clubs of the Beaufort Council of Garden Clubs: are Beaufort, Camellia, Dataw, Lady’s Island, Royal Pines, and Sea Island. Allyson Harden was chair of the event committee.
