Already facing a 28-0 deficit in the second quarter, Battery Creek lost quarterback Chase Olsen to injury when he was hit while delivering a pass and reinjured the collarbone that ended his season early a year ago.
Whale Branch 14, Lake Marion 12
Jermon Bowers and Aaron Fields hooked up for a touchdown pass, Dayaun Brown added a rushing score, and the Warriors’ defense made it stand up with a strong showing on the road to help Whale Branch remain unbeaten in region play.
The Warriors took a 14-6 halftime lead on Brown’s touchdown run and denied a two-point try after the Gators scored to cut into the lead midway through the fourth quarter. Brown broke a long run to help extend Whale Branch’s next drive, and the Warriors were able to run out the clock on a big region win.

Tony O’Banner rolled up 230 yards and a touchdown on the ground, Colton Young added 182 yards and two TDs, and Josh Gibson caught a touchdown pass and took a punt return back for a score to lead the Rebels to a convincing in Friday in Hardeeville.
The Golden Warriors got on the board late with a touchdown pass from Connor Brown to Thomas Gehm. Alan Wolf had a team-high 66 rushing yards for JPII, while Gehm caught seven passes for 91 yards, and Sebastian Slusne and Carson Hurst led the Golden Warriors’ defense.
