Our Prince of Scribes One-Day Writers Conference
Saturday, Aug. 29, via ZOOM and at the Morris Center for Lowcountry Heritage, Ridgeland. All-day registration (includes all four workshops and panel discussion; lunch on your own) is $85 for S.C. Writers Association members, $100 for non-members. Register by Aug. 26. The conference will feature contributing writers Stephanie Austin Edwards, Jonathan Haupt, Ellen Malphrus and Sean A. Scapellato — along with special guests Brooke McKinney and Holland Perryman — for a lively series of four writers workshops and a closing panel discussion. Socially distanced in-person seating is available for up to 20 participants. Online participation is available for a dozen additional participants.
Maye River Quilters Guild
9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, via ZOOM. Andrea West, Certified Quick Curve Ruler Instructor, will instruct the making of a quilt using the special rulers after the meeting.
