Battery Creek rolled to its second straight win with a 38-20 home victory over Region 8-3A rival Lake Marion on Friday.
Tre Booth rushed for 179 yards and two touchdowns, and Jacove Anderson rushed for 145 yards and two TDs to lead the Dolphins’ resurgent rushing attack.
After spotting the Gators a 6-0 lead, Battery Creek scored 38 consecutive points before Lake Marion added a pair of late touchdowns.
Anderson tied it with a 45-yard TD run, and the Dolphins took the lead with a two-point conversion. Jaeon Allen added a 6-yard TD run and Obadahous Wilson threw a 12-yard TD pass to Kyseem Jabbar to make it 22-6 at halftime.
Booth’s 47-yard touchdown run and Anderson’s 5-yard TD run in the third quarter made it 38-6 before the Gators closed the gap with two late scores.
Shamar Hamilton collected 10 tackles (two for loss) and forced and recovered a fumble, and Brandon Wilson added six tackles (three for loss) to lead Battery Creek’s defense, while Jabbar had two interceptions and Luke Sanders had one.
The Dolphins (2-3, 1-1) travel to Ridgeland-Hardeeville for a region matchup Friday.
