Driver rescued following collision

From staff reports

A seriously injured driver needed to be rescued from his car after a two-vehicle accident in Burton Tuesday morning.

Both drivers suffered injuries described as “potentially dangerous” and were transported from the scene for treatment of their injuries.

Initial reports indicated that the car in which the man was trapped was smoking. However, when first responders arrived, there was no fire. Crews from the Burton Fire District were able to free the driver within eight minutes of their arrival on scene.

The collision of a van and a passenger vehicle was reported shortly before 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Trask Parkway and Parker Drive. Reports indicate that the drivers were the sole occupants of each vehicle.
